About medium seasons word search puzzles

What they are

Medium seasons word searches add diagonals to across and down. BLOSSOM might slope towards the bottom right and HARVEST might climb towards the top right, while each word reads forwards and keeps its own squares. The 20×20 grids add seasonal activities such as SLEDDING, PICNIC and CAMPFIRE, which tie the vocabulary to things children actually do. Shorter grids focus on simple weather and clothing words. Every word still reads forwards, which keeps the challenge fair while adding the diagonals.

How to play

Try across, down and both forward diagonals from each first letter. Sorting found words into the four seasons afterwards adds a quick bonus task.

Tips

BLOSSOM has a double S that stands out on a slant. MITTENS, PUDDLE and SUMMER all have doubled letters too.

Who they suit

These suit eight- to twelve-year-olds, science lessons on the seasons, and ESL classes.

Printing

Print two medium seasons puzzles per page for a classroom seasons display. Answers print separately.
