About seasons word search puzzles

What they are

Seasons word searches travel through the whole year: SPRING blossom, SUMMER sandals, AUTUMN leaves and WINTER icicles. The 44-word list also includes the EQUINOX and SOLSTICE for older solvers.

How to play

Find each word in the grid and ring it. For a sorting challenge, color each word by its season once you have found it.

Tips

EQUINOX has a rare Q and X, and SUNSCREEN and FIREPLACE are long enough to spot quickly. Look out for compound words such as SNOWFLAKE, BUTTERFLY and CAMPFIRE.

Who they suit

Seasons puzzles suit early-years science lessons, calendar topics, ESL classes and families looking for a puzzle that works in any month. Because every season is covered, the same theme works in September, January or June. The Kids level suits the youngest children, and the Hard level, with SOLSTICE and EQUINOX, gives older students a real challenge.

Printing

Print one at the start of each new season as a classroom routine. The answer sheet prints separately.
