About easy color word search puzzles

What they are

Easy color word searches line up RED, BLUE, PURPLE and ORANGE in straight rows and columns, always reading forwards and never overlapping. Grids range from 10×10 to 20×20, with harder shades like TURQUOISE and MAGENTA appearing on the bigger sheets.

How to play

Choose a color from the list, find its first letter, then look to the right or straight down. When you find the word, shade it in that very color.

Tips

TURQUOISE has a rare Q and is easy to spot. YELLOW's double L stands out too. Save short colors like RED and TAN for last, since they can hide inside longer runs of letters.

Who they suit

Easy color puzzles suit children from six, art lessons, and English learners practising color names. Teachers like them for a calm start to an art lesson, because every child can finish and then colour the words in.

Printing

Print easy color grids in black ink so the finished puzzle can become a rainbow of shading. Answer keys print on separate sheets.
