About medium color word search puzzles

What they are

Medium color word searches add diagonals to across and down. MAGENTA might slope towards the bottom right and EMERALD might climb towards the top right, while every color still reads forwards and keeps its own squares. The 20×20 grids stretch to precious-metal and gemstone colors such as BRONZE, SILVER, IVORY and SAPPHIRE, which make the list feel like a paint catalogue.

How to play

From each starting letter, test the row, the column and both forward slants. Trace a diagonal with a colored pencil of the matching shade to keep your place and color it in one go.

Tips

SAPPHIRE has a double P that shows up well on a slant. Look for gemstone colors such as RUBY and EMERALD, which have distinctive letters, before the plainer shades.

Who they suit

These suit eight- to twelve-year-olds, art club, and anyone who knows the difference between teal and turquoise.

Printing

Print two medium color puzzles per page as an art-class warm-up. Answers are kept on their own pages.
