What they are
Medium jobs word searches add diagonals to across and down. SCIENTIST might slope towards the bottom right and LIBRARIAN might climb towards the top right, while each job reads forwards and has its own squares. The 20×20 grids include longer careers such as PHOTOGRAPHER and ELECTRICIAN, which take some finding even on a diagonal. Many teachers use these puzzles to introduce a careers unit before students research a job in more depth.
How to play
Test the row, the column and both forward diagonals from every starting letter. When you find a job, star the one you would most like to try.
Tips
Jobs ending in IST, such as ARTIST and DENTIST, share an easy pattern. BARBER and BUTCHER both start with B, so check carefully before circling.
