About easy space word search puzzles

What they are

Easy space word searches line up PLANET, ROCKET, COMET and GALAXY in straight rows and columns, always reading forwards. Grids range from a 10×10 launch pad to a 20×20 mission, with longer words such as ASTRONAUT and TELESCOPE on the bigger sheets. Several of the eight planets appear in most puzzles, so children often learn their names just by solving a few grids in a row.

How to play

Choose a space word, find its first letter, and follow the row to the right or the column down. Ring it and tick it off before blasting on to the next.

Tips

ASTRONAUT and SATELLITE are long and easy to spot first. Look for the double L in SATELLITE, and save short words like SKY until the end of the mission.

Who they suit

Easy space puzzles suit children from six, solar-system lessons, and young astronomers who know every planet by heart.

Printing

Print easy space grids for a stargazing night or a science-week display board. Answer keys print separately.
