About space word search puzzles

What they are

Space word searches blast off with PLANET, ASTEROID, TELESCOPE, CONSTELLATION and BLACK HOLE. All eight planets are on the 42-word list, along with PLUTO, the MILKY WAY and the SPACE STATION.

How to play

Search the grid for each space word and ring it. Multi-word entries such as MILKY WAY and BLACK HOLE are hidden with no spaces.

Tips

CONSTELLATION is the longest word, so find it first. JUPITER has a rare J, and the planets in order make a handy checklist. Short words such as SKY, MOON and STAR are best left until the end.

Who they suit

Space puzzles suit young astronomers, science lessons on the solar system, homeschool units and stargazing nights. They are popular with children from kindergarten right through middle school. The Hard level is a good challenge for teenagers and adult space fans too.

Printing

Print on dark paper with a white gel pen for a night-sky look, or plain paper for school. Answers print separately.
