About themed mazes

What they are

Themed mazes give every puzzle a little story: help the mouse reach the cheese, the bee reach the flower or Santa reach the chimney. Eight themes each have twelve mazes, mixing small, medium and large grids with easy, medium and hard routes, and a picture at Start and Finish.

How to play

Choose a character, then draw its path from the picture at Start to the picture at Finish. The story gives younger children a reason to keep going: the puppy really does want that bone.

Tips

Begin with the first few mazes in a theme, which are small and easy, and work towards the large hard ones at the end. Seasonal themes are handy for holiday activity packs.

Who they suit

Themed mazes are especially popular with children aged three to eight, preschool and early-years classrooms, and parents looking for a story-led activity.

Printing

Each maze prints with its theme headline and pictures. Use the Kids version for bigger art and wider paths.
