About penguin and fish mazes
What they are
Penguin and Fish mazes send a hungry penguin waddling across the ice to catch a fish for supper. The twelve mazes run from easy small grids to a large hard maze, and the icy theme makes them a favourite for winter.
How to play
Guide the penguin from Start to the fish by drawing through the open paths. Each maze has exactly one route, so if the penguin gets stuck, slide back and try another way.
Tips
Pretend the walls are cracks in the ice that the penguin cannot cross. Young children love making the penguin 'slide' along long corridors, which also teaches them to spot the straight runs that cover distance fast.
Who they suit
These mazes suit children aged three to eight, winter and polar-animal topics in class, and snowy days when everyone is stuck indoors.
Printing
Print one per page with the Kids version for big penguin and fish pictures, or two per page for older children. Solutions are separate.
