About food word search puzzles

What they are

Food word searches are a menu in letter form: PIZZA, PANCAKE, SUSHI, BROCCOLI, MANGO and dozens more. The list of 47 foods covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, fruit, vegetables and sweet treats, so every puzzle feels like a different meal.

How to play

Find each food from the list in the grid and draw a ring around it. Words never wrap around the edges, and every letter in the grid belongs either to a hidden word or to filler.

Tips

Doubled letters give food words away: look for the ZZ in PIZZA, the RR in STRAWBERRY and CHERRY, or the CC in BROCCOLI. Short words like PEAS, RICE and EGG are hardest, so leave them until last.

Who they suit

Food puzzles are popular in healthy-eating lessons, cooking clubs and family kitchens. Younger children enjoy finding their favourite snacks, while older ones race to spot every vegetable.

Printing

Print one before dinner and keep everyone busy while it cooks. The answer key prints on its own page.
