What they are
Music crosswords hit the right notes with instruments, voices and styles: BANJO, CELLO, CLARINET, CHOIR, BALLAD, ENCORE and more. The theme has five minis and one 9×9 grid, and the clues borrow from concerts, school bands and everyday listening.
How to play
Fill the grid by reading each clue and thinking about where you would hear or see that word: in an orchestra, a choir, a school band or a concert hall. Crossing letters confirm your guesses as you go.
Tips
Sort clues by type: instruments, singing parts, or things that happen at a concert. Answers such as ALTO, BASS and DUET are short and popular in minis. A clue about applause or 'one more song' is almost always ENCORE.
