About small mazes
What they are
Small mazes are 10 × 10 grids with wide corridors and a route you can usually trace in under five minutes. There are 90 of them, thirty at each difficulty, and every one has exactly one path from the entrance to the exit with no loops to go round in circles.
How to play
Put your pencil on Start and draw a line through the open corridors to Finish without crossing a wall. On screen, drag or use the arrow keys. If you hit a dead end, back up to the last fork and try the other way.
Tips
Young solvers do well tracing with a finger first and drawing second. For an extra challenge, start from Finish and work backwards; on a small grid the two ends are close enough that this often reveals the route at a glance.
Who they suit
Small mazes are made for preschoolers, early readers and children building pencil control, though the hard ones still give older kids a quick puzzle. They make great warm-ups, quiet-time activities and waiting-room entertainment.
Printing
Print one per page with the Kids version switched on for extra-wide paths and big Start and Finish pictures, or two per page to save paper. A solution page is available for every maze.
